Brazilian football icon Kaka has told compatriot Neymar what he needs to do to win the elusive Ballon d'Or Award. Kaka talked about Neymar and the award in an interview with Arenasbt in his native Brazil. According to him, Neymar needs a collective awards for him to win the best individual player award.

Kaka is delighted that an individual award like the Ballon d'Or is now linked with winning collective awards. The ex-Real Madrid, AC Milan and Orlando City player said football is a collective sport and it is right for individual and collective awards to link together.

Just like the other players, Neymar has been a victim of the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo era. Messi and Ronaldo have won the majority of the individual awards on offer for the better part of the last two decades. It could be argued that Neymar is the best player outside the duo of Ronaldo and Messi that's yet to win the Ballon d'Or.

Neymar came closest to the Ballon d'Or Award in 2015 as he finished third behind Ronaldo and Messi. He was part of a potent three-man Barcelona attack alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez as theywon all the trophies on offer that year. The three players helped Barcelona win the treble namely the Spanish Copa Del Rey, the Champions League and the Spanish La Liga titles at the end of the 2014/15 campaign.

Brazilian international Neymar left Barcelona for French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) partly to move away from the shadow of Messi in his bid to win the Ballon d'Or but he has not been able to achieve this target since moving to France.

Neymar has consistently suffered injuries at crucial times of the season . The injuries have stopped him from playing for PSG for an extended period. He has hardly completed any season at PSG without a major injury.
