French giants Lyon are reportedly keen on signing Lens star SekoFofanathis summer. Lyon are not the only team in the race for Fofana as he has also emerged as a transfer target for struggling Premier League team Leeds United. The Leeds United interest in Fofana was confirmed by the report from the Daily Mail. Apart from Leeds United, other Premier League teams such as Burnley and Newcastle United are also keen on the transfer for Fofana.

Lyon will have to fend off the threat of the Premier League teams to sign Fofana. The interest of Lyon in Fofana was confirmed by the report from French publication Le Progres. It was revealed that Lyon will make a move for Fofana if Brazil international Lucas Paqueta leaves the club in the summer. Lens midfielder Fofana is seen as the replacement for Lucas Paqueta who has been dubbed the new Kaka. Paqueta has been compared to Kaka mainly because of their style of play. Just like Kaka, Paqueta is also a Brazil international.

Lyon star Paqueta has been heavily linked to new Premier League moneybags Newcastle United and he could follow in the footsteps of compatriot Bruno Guimares to move from Lyon to St. James Park. Newcastle United made a big transfer coup by signing Guimares before the end of the winter transfer window. The Magpies paid around €40m as initial transfer fee for the Brazilian and a further fee of €8m would be paid if certain conditions in the transfer are met. Media outlet Foot Mercatoconfirmed that Newcastle United tried to sign Paqueta in January, but the player was not keen on the transfer.
Brazilian star Paqueta has been one of the best players in the French top flight this season and Lyon could cash in on his transfer this summer just like they did with Guimares during the January transfer window.
