PSG CHASE MOURINHO

The French club Paris St Germain have been linked with a move for the Real Madrid manager José Mourinho for the last couple of months, but the owner of the club – Nasser Al-Khelaifi – has denied such rumours.

He has said that the club are also not looking at the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as well. The former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has done extremely well since moving to PSG, but there have been rumours circulating about his departure from the club in the summer due to inconsistent league performances. Despite spending close to £ 300 million over the last few transfer windows, the club have been unable to dominate the French league.

However, they have qualified for the quarter-final stage of the Champions League for the first time. They will be facing Barcelona in the stage of the competition. Ancelotti has had to work with the former Inter Milan manager Leonardo, who is the technical director at the club. Al-Khelaifi has stated that he is extremely happy with both the key members of the managing staff. PSG only have a four-point advantage over Lyon in the table. It has been largely due to the impressive performances by the Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is the top scorer in the division with 25 goals.

"I don’t know what the situation is in relation to his [Mourinho’s] contract, but anyway that is no concern of mine. I respect him as a person and as a manager, as I do Arsene Wenger. He [Leonardo] is staying. I have a very good relationship with him. People think we have some kind of problem; I don’t know where that idea came from, but it makes me laugh a lot," said the PSG owner. The club are once again expected to spend big in the summer.
